The scent of spring.

Yeay, spring is finally in town! Last snow (hopefully) fell and today was a day filled with sunshine. Altough it was freezingly cold, the sunbeams and flowers gave my heart a warm feeling. Bruges (my hometown) has a lovely Beguinage where you can enjoy the silence. Normally in March the Narcissus has generous blossoms, unfotunately the winter is still in town so I'll definitely come back in one or two weeks. See it for yourself:

Not only roses are red.

Hi!

This blog is about the color red. The color of love, passion, blood and agression. It's a very strong color and I love putting on red lipstick on special occasions. Besides the lipstick, the roses (that I got from my love) and the nailpolish, it's also a color I love to eat/drink. Cherries, strawberries, peppers, and apples.. Jummy!

 Enjoy!

La belle ville de Lille.

Hi there!

A little blogupdate about my 2 days in Lille. This city is only a 1h20 trainride away from Bruges and is a very surprisingly. As you can see Lille has a 'Flemish' character with narrow streets, lots of chocolate stores and good restaurants.

Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis - trailer

I had a very nice time discovering this city. One of this secret addresses was the restaurant Berliner. It's situated in 'Vieux Lille' and has a very nice atmosphere, is cheap and delicious. (those 2 pictures are not mine)

This is the Beffroi/Belfort of Lille.

Here some pictures of the old stock exchange, situated in the centre of Lille. Every day there is a bookmarket in this building.

 Some pictures of Lille:

On our way to the Citadel and the free zoo we came into this area of Lille:

The free zoo is a must see in summer but right now it is too cold for the animals, so some of them were inside.  Must see animals: rhinos, red pandas and monkeys. It's near the citadel and only a 20 minute walk from the city center.

For a quick lunch or snack you must go to the Happy Days Diner. It's a small place where you can eat typically American food such as milkshakes, burgers, pancakes, nachos, hot dogs etc. Lovely interiour and atmosphere! Worth a visit!

On Sundaymorning you have to visit the colourful market in Wazemmes. Wazemmes, a melting pot of arabic and indian people, is a neighbourhood in the south-west of Lille. The perfect place where you can buy local specialities such as the Ch'ti beer, chocolate, cheese or sausages.

Museums in France are free the first sunday of the month. This also includes the access to the 'Palais des Beaux Arts. This is the second biggest museum in France, nr one is the Louvre. Here you can see paintings of the 17 and 18th century as Rubens and Brueghel.
